Audiologist, Juliette Sterkens, TEDx speaker, an award winning audiologist in her encore career as a consumer advocate for the not-for-profit Hearing Loss Association of America will present:
Hear Your Best with Auracast and Telecoils
Audiologist and advocate Dr. Juliëtte Sterkens explores why assistive listening technology remains essential, even with the most advanced hearing aids and cochlear implants. Learn how you can benefit from Auracast, even if your devices are not (yet) compatible, and why you will still need telecoils for years to come to support your hearing needs. Learn how to engage your audiologist, use your smartphone to locate hearing-accessible venues, help Google Maps provide more accurate data on all forms of assistive listening technology, and be a more confident advocate for your own needs. Practical handouts will be provided.
